Ok,

I just brought myself a Headunit Nakamichi brand worth nearly $2000 now im looking to get some serious BASS & Clear sound im pretty keen on the Hifonics XX 5000 Watt MONO Amp i want to run 2 of these suckers you reckon i would need to run the SPL Hifonics subs with these amps? Or another brand?

As for front speakers on keen on some Cliff Designs as i been looking around for them heard there tops:)

What you guys think so far?:D

2 of the Goaliths? (5000w Hifonics) ... you're nuts!!

You can get the Hifonics subs as well if you'd like to stay with the same brand. But I'm sure there are others you can get out there which would do the job just as well. Be warned though, you'll have to get some fairly tough subs to handle that sort of power.

I also hope you're planning on upgrades to your electrical system. At least another 2-3 batteries and an upgraded alternator.

I would avoid the Cliff Design speakers. I'm not sure who told you they were quality pieces, but they most certainly are NOT!

Having such an expensive HU, amps, and subs only to ruin the whole system with budget concious components (err... splits) is a bad idea!

Welcome to the forum BTW. Which Nak HU did you get? And I'm with Jordy on this one. If you have a Nak HU look at Nak comps, Focal or MBquarts. And yes the XX Hifonics subs will handle that power or you could look into something like RE Audio XXX, FI Audio or something of that nature. That is hugh power though. NUTTY!!!!!

BTW They is lots of brands that will handle that kind of power out there.

you want serious bass go with DD or Atomic subs with that kind of power you need to.

just curious, but if you have 10000 watts in bass, do you really need a $2000 deck? It seems to me that your set up geared towards a bass thumper. Personally, I would use the 2000 towards electrical upgrades, sound deadening, and maybe a 500.00 deck.

I may be talk outta my ass but the better the signal the better end result I went from a mid level eclipse hu to a nack cd 400 and went up 4.5 db so if your a serious competitor then why not spend 2 gee's on a hu . And if the guy wants to spend his money on it who are you to question it dont be jellus.

Sounds to me like our new Aussie friend has got the right idea two thumbs up from me crank it up.

I don't listen to people that talk out of their ass...bad breath!! and I agree, it's his money. I'm just throwing out some ideas, that he may want to consider, as I remember spending a heap on head units back in the day without thinking about other parts of the system. If he's set on the head, then by all means he should go for it.

The head unit is a Nakamichi MD45z Mini Disc/Receiver there RARE here only few ordered cost is $1800 AUS I might just get 1 Hifonics 5000 Watt MONO amp for now i been doing some research on the internet alot of people are happy with the Hifonics SPL subs only thing they keep breaking windows or other bits of there car:D I have a 1996 PPI Precision Power A204 4 Channel amp im thinking on using that for the front speakers...JordyO you sure Cliff Designs speakers are no good man??? I seen some reviews on them with people who have them they were happy with what they produced but everyone has there own say i guess:)

I love not just BASS but also nice natural sound to go along with it more aiming for Quality car audio as well as being in the SPL level.

Another thing guys who can get me a brand new Hifonics 5000 Watt MONO amp as well as some SPL 15 inch Subs:D

JordyO 11-01-2006 08:49 AM

Well I don't know if you get different products over there than we do, but around here Cliff Designs are considered 'budget' speakers at best...

As for getting the Hifonics stuff... we don't even have a Canadian distributor so I would suggest contacting them directly for information on where to buy.

Good choice going with the single 5000w amp though. I'm sure it will be more than enough!
