help, crx box build
im getting a crx in a few days, and im gunna need to build a box for it.
i'll be running two XENON 10d2 's and i was wondering if anyone had tips for making a box for this particular car, i run stock 1 right now. in my civic i hit a 140 with a JBL GTO1220D, and im looking to be louder. i was thinking a simple box with dual slot ports on either side, or dual areo ports and help would be great |
as dustin said, aero ports.
but design.. meh, not sure. i dont design lol |
all i can say is if its spl your looking for, than start building and dont stop. its all about testing.
if u want it to be show like, than build it and be happy with the sound u get from it. |

the traditional crx box has the woffers fireing up and the ports towards the rear of the vehicle,it measures 29 x 29 x 15" and uses 4" areo ports 12" long. its a proven fact that areo ports will have a dbl gain over regular round ports.
many ppl have moddified the design doing things like facing one sub up and one to the side or fireing both subs to the side.you just have to test and tune to find out what works berst for your situation.depending on your vehicle resonant frequency you may have to shorten or lenghten the ports. you may also want fiberglass the inside of the box, that should give you a good start for a new box:smilie_da |
here you go there's a pic

...
don't build that box...there are so many louder boxes now for CRXs its rediculous...whoever suggests that box is living in the year 2000. In the last 6 years alot of headway has been made...use 1 cubic foot per woofer with the woofer firing forwards. Buy two 6" aeroports from JordyO and have both sticking out the back of the box towards the hatch...don't worry about the length whatever the length they come in straight out of the box is the best length to use oddly enough

yea i've seen that box, worked pretty good.
im using a phoenix gold TR 1200.1 , awsome amp, puts out 1547.53 watts RMS @ 4ohms @ 12 volts i think i have some good ideas now about building the first box, i'll probably build a few of them, then test them all out. |
