has anyone here ever seen or legitimately heard of someone being seriously injured (with the exception of hearing related injury) by a car stereo? say by sitting inside an extreme car, if u have or know of a story related to this please post a link to it im curious, ive heard people talking about "internal bleeding" and whatnot caused by extreme spl, which i think is a load of junk, what are all your thoughts? no stories about "i know a guy who knew this guy whos cousin had a car doin 175db.... blah blah blah"

thanks

I have heard it said that with the right freq at the right volume you can match the freq that the heart beats at and cause defibrelation(sp?)...Not sure how true it is,but something I heard more than once

I had heard about this but only cause we discussed it in school. But here is a small tidbit of what i found, I havent heard of any one in a vehicle screwing htemselves up, but i had heard or police disperssing rioters at soccer games in england. i think they use a massive horn and play 2 hz thru it. every one just soils themselves and falls to the ground. i tried looking this up but i had not realy heard any evidence to back that up.

Acoustic Bullets. High power, very low frequency waves emitted from one to two meter antenna dishes. Results in blunt object trauma from waves generated in front of the target. Effects range from discomfort to death. A Russian device that can propel a 10-hertz sonic bullet the size of a baseball hundreds of yardsis thought to exist. Proposed fixed site defense [16,113,212,543]. Also known as sonic bullets.

Electromagnetic technology is a new emerging weapon with significant importance to international politics. Electromagnetic technology has been developed internationally as a weapon of war for at least forty years, but it has been highly classified.(Pasternak,1997). The weapons are designed to target any and every nerve of the body including the human brain. There are many independent sources that verify this little-publicized fact. "Research work in this field [directed energy weapons] has been carried out in almost all industrialized countries, and especially by the great powers, with a view to using these phenomena for anti-materiel or anti-personnel purposes." (Doswald-Beck,1990,18). ..."[U.S.] scientists, aided by government research on the 'bioeffects' of beamed energy, are searching the electromagnetic and sonic spectrums for wavelengths that can affect human behavior." (Pasternak,1997,38). A 1993 Defense News article entitled "U.S. Explores Russian Mind-Control Technology" described "acoustic psycho-correction, the capability to control minds and alter behavior of civilians and soldiers..." It uses "transmission of specific commands via static or white noise bands into the human subconscious..." The article further stated that U.S. and Russian sources were planning "...discussions aimed at creating a framework for bringing the issue under bilateral or multilateral controls".(Opall,1993,4). These are just a few examples of the dozens of articles available on this topic.

Those hearing protectors won't help much at all at those low frequencies. I don't know why they make people wear them at comps. Except maybe to protect against the initial impulse of the wave.

As far as I know - I recently read a literature review from just a few years ago about these so-called sonic weapons, and the consensus was that they were currently thought to be unfeasible and very difficult to make work realistically. Also, not much mention of them were found in public records - but perhaps the military had some as yet unclassified information on their studies into the use of these weapons.
