Holy crap!! Kicker ISN'T dead!! 10k beast

Not like I'll ever need or be able to afford this power, but check out this Kicker amp. The warhorse. :worshippy .. Could kicker earn the old rep back??

How does this compare to the Sundown/Cactus/ etc SPL amps?

Mat-Romain 06-16-2010 10:35 AM

...been out for like a year or more now

Soundigital 06-16-2010 10:40 AM

I'd love to see a burp test against a SD8000, this Kicker has an interesting concept that has a trade off for SPL, it cannot clip.

DeadlySones 06-16-2010 10:54 AM

^^^ what do you mean "it cannot clip"?

Killer_klown187 06-16-2010 12:04 PM

I remember reading a few different reviews on this amplifier, and cannot clip, is this due to the circuitry and having huge caps inside?

Lord Huggington 06-16-2010 12:38 PM

Old news.

It amplifies audio signal directly to DVC subwoofers from the patent-pending, signal-modulated power supply, rather than relying on help from amplification circuits found in traditional Class D or Class A/B designs. This results in efficiency ratings unheard of in mobile audio - 90-percent efficiency at a 2-ohm load and 93-percent efficiency at a 4-ohm load at full power.

Four-year design process.

I'd love to hear em' thanks for the offer.. if we make it to some shows that you're at, maybe you'll be driving it and I'll ask for a demo.:smilie_da

I guess since i wasn't in the market for a 10k amp, I didn't notice it..
On sale for $3500 though, I'd have to sell my whole stereo to get it. Tempting :sly: lol
