I'm assuming you're asking; What's the cleanest type of music to make your system sound as good as possible? If that's the case, then I suggest you look for some telarc pure digital recordings(usually classical stuff though), lots of good jazz recordings sound great, even if you don't necessarily like jazz. A few I like, that sound great, and everyone I know loves to listen to are:
Sade- greatest hits, lots of clean kick drums, nice bass, and sparkling highs. Simply Red- greatest hits, same as above Alpine test disc circa 1992- great tunes, and very clean Fleetwood Mac-greatest hits, same as above, really clear mids and vocals. level 42- remixes, fat sound, clear, good vocals Maroon 5- fat, big sound, Kid rock- just a good sounding rock/rap artist, without too much noise. Lots of Old School R&B sounds great with nice fat bass, and crispy highs. If you like it, then look for Freddie Jackson, Michael J ofcourse, Atlantic Star etc... Whatever you like, there's usually quite a few well engineered cd's available. Though I love the song, I think "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins, is a horribly engineered song, that sounds terrible on every system I've ever heard. It's definitely not one I would use to show off my system. Anyway, check some of those out if you like. |
If you want bass, pick up a three-six mafia cd.

Stuff I like to tune with:
Album/Track--------------Artist Brothers in Arms..............Dire Straits Just came Back...............Collin James Vegas/High Roller.............The Crystal Method Vogue............................Madonna Thriller...........................Mikey J Tweekend/PHD................The Crystal Method Enter Sandman................Metallica A Travel in Time...............Trance Control My Head's in Mississippi...*******Z Top Low Rider........................War By the time I run all of these thru a couple of times, I am pretty close to done with setup issues. There are more, I have 139 tracks on an MP3 disc that I use every time I finish getting things wired up. HTH |
Rush is what I tune to mostly, very clean and precise,...and it's beethoven, just in case you wanted to know how to spell it. LOL
|
The best song i have heard for all around testing would be Digital Bass, im not sure who its by.
