So i just picked up my new amp its a ma audio HK802SX here is the specs on the amp

and its one ohm stable as thats what im runnin it at right now through 2 mtx tens.

now im thinking of upgrading my drivers to either 2 15" or 18" subs and i was just wondering if anyone on here is running ma audio subs or heard them?

Do they sound good cause i found a good deal on 2 18" MA1800XL and i would like to match the subs with the same company as the amp.

now my only concern is will this just be loud but sound like crap? i dont mind giving up some sq for more spl but im not tryin to build a pure spl machine i want a real loud daily pounder that i can still go to stereo comps with am i better off with 2 12" or 2 15" or maybe 1 15" or 18" plus my 2 10" mtx subs i just dont know how that would sound never heard a setup like that im guessing it would be hard to tune a setup like that.

Any feed back is appreciated and all this is going in a mk4 1999.5 vw jetta that im thinking of making a 3 seater i got a racing seat that i want to put in the center in the back and build a box that has a sub on each side of the seat.(i dont use my backseat really anyways)

if you dont use it why keep it!!! lol.

well its at least going to be a 3 seater i cant justify makeing a 4 door into a 2 seater only! plus having 2 big woofers on each side of you will be pretty cool i started to play wit some fiberglass on a old sealed box i had and it turned out alright im sure with more practice i can make something that would look nice and be within specs.

im more or less tryin to find out if its worth going to 15 or 18 inch drivers or do they sound like i want it to be loud too though.

I forget to mention i have 6.5 components in all 4 doors hooked to a 800 watt ma audio amp thats 200x4 rms at 4 ohm and the worst part of all still only got 4 guage hooked to the amp i know i know !!!!!!! im getting some zero guage shortly just ordered my kit off ebay.

bigger is better. im gonna be trying some clarion pxw1552's and im thinking about removing my back seats to make my 4 dr car a 2 seeter aswell. hope it gets loud. and good luck to you aswell.

i had an older ma audio with a paper cone and it was decent enough.
its in my room hooked up to my home theater system. my parents hate it.
