well i have a DD 9015, so ive been told ake a box around 4.5-5 cu ft, with a 80 sq inch port... so thats what i did, USING EXTERNAL MEASUREMENTS!!!

so internally it is 3.9 cu ft, with a 5 inch wide port 5" wide, 17" tall, and 10.5" long(bent port) now i made that port to the size of a 4.5 cu ft. but technically, with sub in, the internal volume is 3.8 cu ft.

my question is, anyone think this small of a box is going to be worth putting more than the already 10 hours put into it, or should i just leave it, and get started on another makign it 5 cu ft? will it be a large gain if i bothered taking the tiem for a new box, or jsut a few db off, keep this for now, and do somehting else at another time? this is goign into a 91 vw golf, 2 door hatchback, powered by a visonik v900xd, putting out 1500 watts rms.

any input is appreciated, thanks

it will look kinda corny, but external the ports and the woofers, you'll get a bigger box, but it will look like your box threw up. hahaha. sorry had to laugh. had to try this myself years ago. after glassing it looked pretty cool though. only try this so you can test it. so you can have peice of mind on whether to build a new one or not. if your number goes up, then good. if your number saty the same or goes down , then good too. it will tell you whether it need that extra little bit or not. good luck

Damn, I cut one side 1/2" too short losing very minimal volume but I still went back, picked up more MDF and stsrted again. I cut the other wood up and made a box for my bud's sub.

Run the #'s in winisd to see if it's gonna sound the way you want it to... !!!

(recommended for any future boxes you build as well!!!)
