due to the pm's ive gotten this morning regarding the above post

the idea is based on a parabolic dish. a sattelite dish focuses a small amout of energy onto a small lnb on the order of 70 to 80 times the initial signal. if you could use a parabolic dish in vehicle to focus the energy of an 8" woofer onto a dish and amplify that little bit on energy on the order of 70 or 80 times, you could rewrite the way people go loud. the issue is the the mathematics, program writing, and testing that is involved is monstrous, aka tons of $$$$. the math comes in the design of the dish and the distance to the pressure sensor. neat idea, and if anyone will do it i think jbl could, anyway, the gentleman i spoke with is on of the most inmtelligent poeple ive ever talked to
so what ur saying is use a reciever/transmitter to multiply the sound waves...

it's amazing how simple minded people are and would fall for anything others say
</font>
Also i could see this not being legal in dbdrag?!?

i guess this is using the idea of a parabolic cooker.

i see the factors invovled in this being the position of the subs, the dish like thing, and the mic.

Here is the basic idea of how this can be implemented

but this exact design can not be used b/c we obv. cant have an object infront of the mic. right now thats the windshiled of the vehicle. this is just the basica idea tho.

for those interested in trying a parabolic wall design i have one that can actually be legally implemented with in an extreme or maybe even a super street vehicle. i'd post it here but i think i will hold on to it for now.

aaaaaaaa keep thinking....i want to see if anyone can actually think of a parabolic design that would be legal.

i got one that is totally legal, it shares some comonalities with the boxes we recently saw at finals and some totally different idea at the same time

Mabye you should take up DB drag dave? LOL

I was told that the sensor was upgraded internally. I have also herd that if you don't hit at least a 170 on the upgraded sensor that i won't read correctly. just rumors though.

Parabolic is not the way to go,to properly do a dish design you would have to use an eliptical dish, where you have 2 foci. the reflective properties of an elipse are such that any wave generated at one of the focus is reflected in it's entirety and all of the waves are focused at the other focus point. I have designs drawn up, I just don't have the time and or money to build them. if someone wants to front the vehicle, time, and equipment, I'd love to try it.
