I'm going to be putting together a small system by next week, and I was just curious to whats the proper way to guage the SPL in the car. I notice in some of the pictures of events at SPL comps, the meter seems to be mounted on the front windshield, somewhere half down from the top of it. I work at the source, and was just gunna rip one of the SPL meters out and just sit in the car and blast it lol, but this probably wouldn't be accurate. Thanks in advance.

the only real way to see how loud you are is to meter in on a TermLab sensor. There is a show coming up in feb. in bramptong, come on out and enter man, youll not only see how loud your stereo is, but youll meet alot of good people!

lmao not only would I be embarrased of the winter beater I drive, but it's not a serious system anyways. Was just curious if the schoche SPL meter was decent. But if my buddy gets his system done as well, maybe we ill take a trip down there.

heh... there's no reason to be embarrassed about the look of your winter beater.

For the most part SPL competitors are just happy to be out at a show hanging out with their buddies. They really aren't as judgmental as they appear on these forums

Alright well maybe if someone can direct me in the correct direction for SPL comp rules, maybe I'd be interested in the lowest ranked part of it. I have 2 kicker CVRs in a sealed box, DVC2 off a 1 ohm kenwood at home. Doubt thats close to anyone of you guys power but maybe might do something in one of those lower devisions.

It's the KAC9152d Mono block. Rated for 900 RMS at 1 ohm stable. This is the PDF for it, the spec's are towards the bottom.
