pioneer premier deh-p310ub sub problem

hey guys, ive got a pioneer premier deck sending 2.2v preout sig to a 250w sony amp & 10" sub. ive had this sub pumpin before so i know what its capable of, however when i installed it on this deck its performance is weak and easily over powered by the stock speakers when the high pass filter is off? i thought maybe it was the rca cable, but i tried another one with no success, and cranking the gain on the amp makes little difference as well. anyone one have suggestions? thanks.

What deck did you have before? ie: did you have a deck with 4V pre-outs before? That could make a difference. Or try reversing the phase of the sub.

tried reversing, no difference. the other deck had low volt preout too, somethin around 2v.

You get a little sound or no sound coming from the sub? Check up close and feel the cone for vibrations to make sure you're not just hearing resonant frequencies from the rest of the stereo.

no the sub is clearly moving, just not loud

Hmm... Have a good power/ground? That could rob your amp of wattage. Double check the obvious- RCA is hooked up on the right connections... Sub out level on the deck etc... Is the Sony amp a dedicated mono amp or stereo? If it's stereo, do you have it bridged properly or using a single channel? Have some model numbers for me to google?

Double check adjustments on amp. Crossover switch or dial may have got moved by accident.

Double check all power/ground connections. Do you have voltage at both RCAs?

Is it a dedicated sub pre out on deck? Some decks have a choice between rear and sub pre out that needs to be set in the deck.

Was this setup in a hatchback before? Is it in a trunk now? Hatches can add up to a 3db gain over trunks.

Have you turned the power off on source unit and entered into the basic setup functions of the radio?

Did you turn the sub level up?
