RE audio any good?

I used to be real big into car audio but I haven't had time for the last several years. Now that I have some time, I wanna try and get into competing some at local shows. I left off with 2 RE Audio MX12's and 2 Kicker SX1250.1 amps. I was wondering if that setup has much potential with a good ported enclosure? Also, how well does RE compare to other subs? I plan on putting them in the backseat area of a '07 Ram 3500 with the seats removed.

It would be nice if you put it on the backseat of your car in 1 amps. When it comes to RE to subs you mix it with that 2 kicker SX1250

To actually answer your question... Yes that would be a really nice setup. The MX is my favourite woofer that RE has. Im building a custom woofer out of one right now actually.

You might be better off with different amp though. A single larger amp is usually a bit more efficient. But two smaller amps are easier to sell. Id recommend a bit more power though. A strong 1500 watt amp per sub would be pretty decent. Like a pair of sundown 1500d's for instance or a single sundown 3000d.

As for the enclosure, if youre going to take out your back seat for the box you have the option to run two 15s or two 18s for pretty much the same price. So Id consider that too.

Make sure you got the box designed by someone who knows what theyre doing. You can build it yourself quite easily and save a lot of money if youre down with that but make sure to have it designed properly. Or you could have it built by one of the people on this forum..feel free to pm me if youre in western canada
