some power to play with

so i had been constantly posting without actually buying anything, so once i had put some money away i said **** it and went out and bought an orion 2500D from sisco on the soundpressure forums... he will be shipping it out to me on monday i payed 430 shipped so i figure its a pretty good price for 2500 watts rms
so now comes the fun part...
paying stupid amounts of money on dynamat/ mdf/ wiring...
and then the most fun buying a ****ing sub, which im still not to sure on
I cant determine if i want the FI BTL or BL cause their prices are so reasonable, or if ill just go through the SP forum and get a 9512 or 9515
i know what all your responses are gunna be the DD... but how much better would they be over the FI... would it be worth the extra price for an used one? or for the price would the FI be a better bang for my buck?
also size, which one? 12 or 15... i play lots of metal and such so i want nice tight bass but i also want real loud, would the 9515 be able to keep up to my demand for fast tight bass or would the 12 be a better overall choice
please
opinions

i would think 2 or 3 12s in a open chamber sealed bex will..do you plenty or justice..lots of controll for the sub but it will hit good db as well...and for the type of sub to use just add up the rms together to find witch one will work..and pay attention to the ohms..cause i think that orion will do 4 ohm bridged and 2 ohm stereo..cause i think it is similar to my 2 ppi a1200.2's

actually it does 1 ohm 2ohm and 4ohm nd you can have it as one sub into positive and negative or two subs into the postive and negative look at the picture below, its just a quick sketch i made on paint, lol but its from the 2500d manual

Can't speak for the sound quality of the dd 95/99 series, but the fi btl is probably not what you want. It is meant as a crazy ground pounder/comp sub with minimal concern for sq from what I have heard. Not saying it will sound bad necessarily, but I think you are better off with something else. With that power, the fi q series would probalby be more of what your after. They like sealed and low ported boxes, and a pair (whatever size you can fit, 18's would be sweet :)). Should hit some nice lows and sound good on metal music. The q's are pretty cheap, two brand new would probably be about 600 american with the extra for shipping up north. Q gets my vote. As far as keeping it to a single sub if thats what your after, someone else may have better advise.

It's nothing like your A1200.2's. The 2500D is a mono class D amp whereas yours are stereo class A/B amps.

There are plenty of excellent performing driver's available for your application that I'm sure you would absolutely love. Get out and listen to some drivers and see what you like.
