Soundstream or FP audio?
Soundstream or FP audio?
Hey
I have a Soundstream SS-12 Reference series sub installed in a ported box in my car. It's hooked up to a Kenwood 400w amp.
The current sub is rated at 300w max. I have another sub lying around in my closet, it's a no-name brand "FP brand" 12" subwoofer rated at 600w max.
Which sub do you guys think is better with regards to SPL...the oldschool Soundstream or the newer less known FP sub?
PS: if you guys want to see a picture of the crap sub (and a damn good laugh) check this link out: CLICK HERE Pics on page 1 and 2

Keep the old guy for sure. The SS12R was one amazing subwoofer. It can get loud but was far more suited to great sound and reached waaaaay down low in the right box. For SPL, I would not use it, save it for everyday enjoying your music.
Hell yeah...anything available on a sunday afternoon can be a speaker enclosure...i've used plastic buckets, old tool boxes, old pots, tin cans...whatever is lying around. I liked the plastic bucket the most, it actually sounded alright with a 6.5 inch co-ax in there.
