I have been reading a bit about this topic, some people use this others use that.

ok so how do i go about desiging one?
|
just dont fire up in the trunk
|
Well for a daily driving port you will want to tune it fairly low, like 35hz-38hz. Get a program like WinISD and it will help you design a box.
For an spl port, there really is no magic answer. The general rule of thumb is "make it big and test" |
sometimes a really tiny ox with a big long port helps too
depends on the vehicle that u are using...WinISD is cool and FREE! |
win SD sucks big ass for me, i hate that program.

win sd does most of it now, and its pretty good at it

From another forum
How to properly design a vented enclosure using WinISD |
ok that has nothing to do with spl. and that is what he is asking, what works for spl.
|
But with Winisd he can calculate the port length for a tuning frequency, and it has different graphs you can compare one to the other..
As Quoted by JordyO "Typically an SPL port will be larger & shorter than a regular port. Larger to let more air through, shorter for higher tuning." -- Choose a higher tunning frequency and a bigger port size and it will give you the length.. |
u know im fing retarded. this whole time i was replying to the wrong post.
