sub box in a box???
#1
I tried finding more info on this bandpass box with an extra cavity which is about 1/3 of the total box anyone know what i'm talking about???
the first is the cavity containing the sub the other cavity the port but the port fires into another cavity which has another port firing out side, i need to know how to build one what are specs i have to be aware of and if the bass is nice or just loud.
thx

I have one here,
You'll have to play around with designs to make it work properly, the info on the site below isnt exact and WinISD cant model this type of box properly, but it will give you a good starting point.
My REs get loud off of 250-300watts, I was impressed, but I would like a little more output (so im replacing the RE8s that are wired for 4ohms to dual 9kv2s wired for 2ohms in the same box), but its still nice and the SQ is GREAT. If I didn't like a lot of bass im sure this would be great for many people in a daily driver.
Mine is 3cf net, so the smaller chamber is exactly 1cf net and the larger is 2cf net. You have to remember to account for port displacement and sub displacement which is what makes this type of box difficult to design, but its worth it IMO.
