It's just the subs. I haven't heard any difference from anything upfront but to be quite honest, I have barely any bass upfront so I wouldn't be able to tell.
I think I would hear it though, so I'm 95+ % its subs only.

what does voltage drop to?

could be a bad deck i had a clarion once it was good till med. volume anything over it would send like 20hz and 50hz tones out of it really fast switched deck... never did it again

That's an idea, since I recently purchased this deck, I don't think it would take a lot to set the other one up (temporarily) ... it's an idea.

I was going to check voltage all around, that's the next thing I have in mind.
During these dips, just to make sure everything is up.

I had the same problem last year and even though I checked the RCA and wasn't able to make it happen, it was the problem. :dunno: It's easy enough to run another set across the car and see if it still does it or not...

"Easy Enough" lmao

I guess you get use to the idea of taking things apart and putting them back together as "Easy" after you've done this for so long. Still drives me nuts.

To add to the prior good points here, I personally had this problem also and it turned out to be a bad battery. It was actually a bad yellow top, had the same issues and also the weather one...usually batteries act different when its cold.
I would suggest disconnecting one battery at a time and seeing what happens...good luck and hope it helps.

lol, by easy I meant just over the seats and stuff from deck straight back to the trunk. :)

AyZe 06-10-2010 08:49 AM

or get another deck and just hook it up temp @ the trunk , ghetto as ... well u kno but it works and saves time.Would work for checking deck<->amp.(not saying leave it like that)
that way u dont have to actually take much if anything apart thats installed if it turns out its a problem somwhere else.

I just wanted to update this thread, since most people don't update the issues they have ...

I haven't diagnosed where it's coming from, but the system has started to get louder when I'm taking corners (for instance, entering the highway).
Therefore, I'm thinking its DEFINITELY a RCA issue somewhere.

I've unplugged and re-plugged in things today with no solution. Did this and that with the deck, nothing.

Going to figure it out sooner or later.

run a new set of rcas right down the middle of the car, not hidden under the panels or anythin and go for a rip and try it, if it works, theres ur problem
