type R, PXW, W3 or COMPVR

Hey guys, so I need your oppinion. Which of these single subs will produce the most SPL? SQ isnt really important, but because I only have room for a 10, I need it to count. I know there are other better ones, but these are the 3 I have chosen to fit the budget so if I can get your oppinion please(I run at 500RMS @ 4ohm):

Kicker compVR: 10 inch DVC
400 RMS @ 4 ohms
83.6db
Clarion PXW1052: 10 inch
500 RMS @ 4 ohms
no info
JL W3: 10 inch
500watt RMS
85.37db
Alpine type-r: 10 inch
600 watts RMS
idk, lol
thanks in advance. I know this might be a little about preference, but I dont have any experience with these so I couldn't tell what would be good for SPL.

what car is it? seems odd you only have room for 1 10''

The new type-R (600W).

Sonicelectronix.com has Eclipse SW8210/SW8010's for $150. SW8210 - 750W, 86 dB, single 4 ohm (1 sub into 2 ohms, 2 subs into 1 ohm), 38mm x-max, minimum sealed 1.5 cubic feet (FC @ 26.87 HZ)

The type R is good? And I drive a 98 eclipse which does have room for more...but I want to keep a little trunk space open as storage, lol

i would say either the Type R also. or the JL

well my guess is its going to be a daily thing, and you honestly are asking for a lot from 1 10'' on 500 nominal watts, especially if you want spl to show off.

Lord Huggington 09-14-2010 09:06 PM

If you want SPL than get something like an RE MT 10, something with high sensitivity, and put it in a ported box @ 40hz. If you want lows, tune to 30hz, and a mix 35hz. A 2000W RMS sub with high sensitivity should be louder than anything that's 500W RMS.

keep in mind that a 10" type r in the right box will out perform the MT especially in sound quality and with only 500 watts... he doesnt need an MT... MT's are loud..but dont sound that good...Ive used them for quite a few years in many different enclosures

I know I'm asking quite a bit for a single 10 inch...so type ris probably the way to go. Also does the old generation type Rs compare too? or are we just talking about the new 4th gens?
