Unsung?

So I've heard a few things about the Pioneer SPL subs, the main one being their 5102. If it's good enough for Scott Owens, why isn't it good enough for someone in the Street or Street max cat.? Does anyone have this sub? Why do we not see more of them around in comps if they can handle the power?

Just a comment: the "if its good enough for X then its good enough for me!" argument is kinda flawed when there is sponsorship involved.... however that is kinda the point behind it

The subs he uses are the the subs that you buy in the stores. The Poineer "legends of spl...blah" are garbage! The voice coils burn super easy...I seen people blow up 12+ subs in comps all over Western Canada...

The 5102 and 8102 are great subs but are very pricy. I owned 2504spl and 3004spl subs and were great subs and performed well in all enclosures. They also handled their rated power well.

Yeah, i know the price of the 5102. I sell them. But I haven't tested one as of yet. I was just wondering how they would compare to others of the sorts as stated earlier, if they can handle their rated power. And has it not been said before that if you've got a sub than can handle a decent power (1500W+) it can't be all that bad? Especially if I can get a 12 for the same price as I paid for my DD9512?

Aside from the price, is there any other reason I don't see the 5000 series in a Street class? We see other subs that are just as expensive in A and B.
