What classes are popular (dbdrag) in the GVA?

I am planning to build a car for SPL competition next year. I live in the Vancouver area and am wondering what classes are popular... Looking at the rules I don't think I can afford to be competitive in super street or above.
Mainly what I'm wondering is, does anyone even run street max? In terms of street A-B-C what's the competition like in Vancouver? How many people show up per class at the bigger shows?
Thanks.
Also, does any other SPL league run out here often? IASCA SPL maybe?

Cool... thanks for the input. This has got to be my daily driver so a wall is pretty much out, unless I break down and kinda lose my sanity.
Also, something that you'd actually drive around with appeals to me... sure a concrete dash and lexan windows is cool in a way but who's surprised when it's loud?

newb....
i like the name...just don't keep it for too long. ahh yes, that was me last year...the "newbee", but soon enough i was right into it and SPLin' like crazy.
i started off in street b (as most average people do) and soon found out that there is a wide gap between the everday competitors and hardcore competitors. it's hard to keep a vehicle as a "nice" daily driver and still compete at the high levels - but it still is possible.
my reccomendation would be to go into a street max, it's fun, creative and usually not too much competition to worry about.
