what to do wtih 12 cubic feet?
:smokin: :smokin:
so i need a system in the new winter beater and i have 12 cubic feet to play with and that includes the thickness of the walls(3/4") but does not include a port if i decide to go with a ported box ill be running a Hifonics BX1000D(1ohm stable) unless i find a better amp for a decent price and probably a alpine HU was thinking of running 4 12" kicker comp VRs as i can get them for jsut under $400 or i can build a bigger box for my current 2 12" audiobahn AW1206Ts(hit 141.7DB on TL) but my buddy wants my audiobahns so i might sell them and purchase something else or i have a 15" RE SX sitting in my room that needs a recone($150 ish for kit and to pay someone to do it) and for box designs, it will be in a SUV and ive never built a system for a SUV...is it better to have the subs firing into the sky? towards the tails? if they fire into the sky where would the port go etc? |
well the audiobahns are no longer a option! took a sledge hammer to my buddies 2003 car to make the box fit in his trunk lol we needed a extra 3 inches:smilie_da ... my rear end lifted up a couple inches, i no longer tuck rear tire:( lol

subs up ports to the rear. that seems to be what most people use.
so subs pointing to the roof and port towards the hatch/tails? thats what i thought to but the port would be almost RIGHT against the hatchback on hte truck and i thought u need abit of space between the port and a wall or whatever?
yeah you do or else you will get mad noise.
My brothers got 2-15" maw subs firing up in his Jimmy 3 cubes each @ 32hz port firing up. It sounds pretty good. Sounds loud but we havent had it on a meter yet.
