well then how much you thinking of spending? that would make this much easier. also dont be scared of the used gear on the site, it has all been owned for the most part by car audio nuts and we treat each other well. You can get some seriosu power fr very little money on this site and most of the guys are in ontario to.

Yeah i have had the chance to meet a few good guys off here and also bought and sold so im pretty confident with the ppl on here.

i would like to spend no more than 800 on a amp. im going to do some research and see what my money can get me and perhaps get back to this thread and let you know what im going to use for my power. i am still waiting on my 0 guage amp kit that im going to be using to power my alpine mrf-600 (new 4 channel amp) ive got a set of macrom speakers in the front 6 1/2" andf 6x9 macroms in the rear. upgraded wire to 16 guage only reason i went with a 0 guage amp kit is b/c that way once i got my power wire ran if i change my setup at least i dont have to fight with changing my amp kit. i thought it was a good idea anyhow. got my doors dynamatted along with the rear deck where the 6x9s are and going to get my trunk done too. (soon)

thanks for all the quick responses and i'll be back on here soon to let you know what amp i am going to use.

well if you have the electrical system to support it, you can get 4-5000 watt amps off this site with that amount of money...

yep on this site buy used man... theres a DD Z1 in there right now for i think 750 it'll do 3000rms all day.... If you have good electrical.

oh i re read my post, i mean to say 4000 to 5000watt amps not 4 5000 watt amps hhahahasorry about that..

ok you have to understand stuff like DD Z1.. This is hard core gear you have to have alot of juice to run it well.

Well i have experience both the MTX and the type R. I am now running the type R, but if i could afford a 9500 MTX, i would def go with that. The MTX will hit nice and loud (not as loud as the type R), but if you build the right box the MTX is quite capable of sounding very loud in the low end. I gave my 12" MTX in a custom 2.56^3 box to my brother and it makes his windshield wipers bounce. I am running two 12" type R's and if you pump it loud, it is very very loud (enough to feel the bass outside the car when the door is open). I know with both subs they can def handle a little extra juice if you watch your clipping. BTW $800 is enough for a nice amp, i am selling my 1600watt RMS amp for $200, and that could run 3 type R's lol...

hey i've got the rf p3d412 and it pounds just make sure its in a ported box, thats the one i used at iasca in rookie i did 139db so its not a bad sub, as for the type r those are garbage imo as i had 2 of them the glue holding the rubber surround just rip right off.

well despite my pure hatred of Alpine hehehee i have to say in there defense one our team members runs a single 12" type R that has had a very hard life and she uses a bassworx 1200.1 amp to power it and shes doing 144.3db on RTA (IASCA) but tis in a voodoo box which in the end the box is what makes the biggest difference in the performance of the sub..

Just buy subs you like and have a really good box made for them give it some good power and you'll thump.

Yea that happened to one of mine too lol, but that was my fault cuz i was running 800watts to it. A little bit of non hardening silicone worked for me.

Alpine Type R's are a great bang for the buck.
