5 Channel amps - suggestions?

I'm looking around for a 5 channel amp as I'm preparing to build my '05 Explorer. Currently I run a 4 channel Memphis and a 2 channel Fosgate bridged to run my sub.

For packaging reasons, I'm thinking of a single amp to run my system. I"m a sales rep who often is lugging around longer product where I have to fold down half of the rear seat to fit it in. Hence I"m thinking of one amp and a single sub box that I can locate to one side of the rear area.

What are your picks for a top quality SQ 5 channel? I'm partial to Memphis based on past experience, so obviously the Memphis Belle is on my list. Any other suggestions? It will run components in the front (likely focal, but will entertain suggestions in another post in a few days) and something for rear fill. I'm thinking a single 12" in a ported box. Money is somewhat open.

I'm looking to invest in an amp that I"d be happy with for 8-10 years. I listen to Stones, Zeppelin, Floyd, AC/DC, but also acoustic stuff like Neil Young and James Taylor. In other words, looking for a very musical amp

Boston Acoustics makes a real nice 5 channel amp. I am not at the shop right now but this is probably right up your alley for a great amplifier. I would have recommended the Eclipse XA5000 but it is now out of production and there are no more available. Here is a link to the Boston from their site.

I picked up a Memphis Bell and absolutely love it. It pushes my 18" RE SX absolutely beautifully. I personally like the older ones for looks better than the newer ones. With the black chrome and the bomber on the front, it's like eye candy.

The Arc Audio KS 900.6 would be a nice choice.

Also Audison VRX 6-channel. Depends on budget. But I think the music you listen to is mastered so-so to begin with, I could be wrong. There is a nice limited edition Fosgate 5-channel on Ebay 25 to Life edition or something. Here it is actually. Looks really good to me.

thanks for all the replys so far. Interesting that a couple posts mentioned Arc and Audison - they have both come up on my radar screen as excellent SQ amps. hifichef mentioned DLS, a brand I've heard good things about over the past couple of years. Are there any dealers in southern or central ontario? I'm also interested in finding out more about their components (though I will save that for another post)

More importantly, in my research over the past couple of weeks, I've come to understand that there is a difference amongst high end amps. Now I might have the wrong lingo, but I guess there are amps that run processors and those that don't. If I read some of the reviews, I understand the Audison requires a different setup than my old school Memphis 4 channel.

Am I just falling victim to too much information and over-research, or is there something actually iin this. I was hard core 10 years ago, then got back into the game four years ago on my most recent build, but admittedly may have fallen behind on the most recent technology.

thx
MM
