6X9 suggestion

My buddy has a 2005 Toyota Echo and is looking to upgrade his 6X9's. He's looking for a bit more bass out of them. They will be run off of the stock deck. Any suggestions? Keep the price considerable.

Thanks.

JBL p963's are designed to get the max output out of the stock system. They sound great with good quality tweeters, and outboard cross overs, and deliver excellent bass if properly installed. Additionally, they handle a lot of power for future upgrades (adding amps etc...).

Yes, I agree. I had JBL 6x9's years ago running off the deck, and they were prolly the best speakers to run off the deck at the time. I found that 2-ways had more output than 3-ways though.

To give you an example of what to expect. I have those JBL's and combined with the JBL C608 GTI 6.5's in the front doors, I can turn my subs off and get very balanced bass (system is crossed at 50hz front and rear) to fully enjoy the music as you would through good quality headphones. In this case, similar to my Denon AHD 1001's, and Sennheiser HD 555's.

Pertinent brag time! At home I have Denon 3808 receiver, and I listen to it at night through Sennheiser 595 headphones to my trance on a Denon 1940 DVD Deck :D

Sorry, for me 6x9's r outta the question if you r running a decent system. For me allmost any component system will out perform a set of 6x9's. If you want to run 6x9's,grow a mullet and drive a Firebird

Wow, someone missed the whole point of the exercise, or must be new, nah, hopefully just high :D

Components on deck power - ok, sure. How about adding subs on deck's rear channels, cause they will outperform those components on the bottom end.

But seriously, 6x9's will stomp all over components in bass response, components do not like to run fullrange, and originally someone wanted a drop in replacement, and putting in components will be extra work. Way off track here, Mulletman. And I doubt Pyle components, as you say any, will outperform DLS Reference 6x9's, or Focal 6x9's, as a few others for that matter.

BTW, welcome to the board. Enjoy your stay.
