allright right now im looking to make a 3 way setup in front of my van but my question is what do i need to do this cause i have no clue lol im just gonna make something cheap with stuff off partsexpress.com

like to i need 3 amps?
new deck that supports time aligment?
processor?

lol anyhelp to point me in the right direction would be great

ohh and is there an advantage to a underhung magnet???? compared to a regular speaker magnet

you need a channel of amplification for each speaker, so, for a 3 way front and a sub, you'll need 7 channels, so a 4 channel, a two channel and a mono for sub, or two 4 channels and bridge two of the channels for sub, or a 5 channel and a two channel, see the point?...if you don't have amps or drivers yet, I'd suggest picking out drivers then finding amps to match.

then you need some way of processing things for active, not too many decks support this but some do.

Some amps have built in processing like the Zapco ref's....

allright i have the drivers in mind right now and the amps also i will grab 3 2channel amp for the front and the sub is all done

as of decks what i can get right now would be clarion alpine or eclipse

know what screw the active plans ill get a powerfull 2 channel amp but i need help on building a 3 way crossover sooo any programs for this???

PArts express has software for xover design. They also sell pre built xovers.
You can also go on Untitled Document and find drivers there, once you pick them out, solen can design the passive xover for you.

thanks ive seen that they sell some but what im wondering is that lets say i get a crossover at 4000hz how does that work out with the tweeter and and woofer

ya and from what i could find at parts express they are 8 ohm
