I am thinking of buying a used ED10a but I'm not sure which amp would get the job done for a SQ installation. Here are the details on the requirements.

Dual 2 Ohm voice coil

Box Size / Type : O.5cF Sealed
Power Recommendation : 300-1000 WRms
Box Size / Type : 1.OcF / Vented tuned to 30Hz.
Power Recommendation : 300-800 WRms

Also..........sealed or ported box for SQ?

Thanks for looking.

Sealed box for SQ.
Any Class A/B amplifier with a suffiecient power rating should be good for sq and get the job done. may i suggest a kicker ZR1000 maybe a usamp, or zapco, all depends on price range I guess.

Ported ported ported!
Scarlemthug has heard this sub in my car, off less than 500 watts, ported to around 28 hz.
It got LOUD and low.

You can get some great sound with ported enclosures (so long as they are designed correctly). Sealed boxes are much more forgiving when it comes to construction, and can provide a bit of a smoother response. A Ported box can give you over +3db more output with the same amount of power though.

It all depends on the sub too. Many subs are designed specificially for ported enclosures, and others for sealed enclosures. I'm not too familiar with that type of sub, but what does the manufacturer suggest?

Ported, this baby will retain all the SQ of sealed but it goes LOW. Any amp that puts out a clean signal with 500+wrms will be perfect, There is a guy selling a 500/1 from JL for $275US and hes in canada, pm me if your interested.
