Hey all. New to the board, didn't even know there was a Canadian sound board

Anyway, I am putting a new set of components in my car, looking at the AVI BSM's and also the SEAS Lotus Reference and Focal K2P's. The mid will be going in the door, and the tweet in the a-pillar so I am concerned with off axis response. I know the Focal's are awesome off axis, but not too sure about AVI... the Seas are supposedly not too hot off axis.

Any feedback?

Thanks.

I will be door mounting the mid. The tweet will go in the a-pillar, or wherever it gets best staging and imaging.

Have you considered kick-panel mounting your speakers? In most situations, you'll get improved imaging over the setup you have described. It's very beneficial to keep the mid and tweeters close together as well..

I have, yes. But the airspace for a 6.5 in a kick is too limited to get decent midbass. I am starting to think my only solution will be to buy a 3 way set.

Diabolik,

Drive to Charlottetown next week and give me a call. I can reconfigure X.O. points in my car really easily. I'll show you the difference.

defro13: I'll do a search, thanks!

PEI330Ci: I'm in Toronto until the end of May, so I can't do that

Just checked the SD page, defro13, NICE! I don't know how I missed that...

So what do you think? Happy with the sound compared to other comps you tried? Getting good image / stage / SQ?

Diabolik, have you checked if the bsm's will fit in your door? I have bsm's but they are way too big for my civic to fit in factory location. I've played with them in multiple locations and they actually don't require much air space to sound good in a kick. I used the Tri-star BSM set so I ended up making a fiberglass add-on on my door to house the BSM's. Worked out well, but was quite a hassle. If you want, we can meet up and you can see if the speakers will fit before you actually buy them. Those HF30 tweets and xover that come in the set are awesome.
