Right you are. Thanks for your valuable contribution.

Then consider this one (technically a 15.75")

It is generally accepted in car audio circles that the 40KX woofer is a 16", this was taken right from the Focal sight for your reference as you strike me as a stickler for the details.
40cm (16") subwoofer, double coil, K2 composite sandwich cone, Multiferrite magnet. K2 Power subwoofer is dedicated to solid bass down to extreme frequencies.
Having cleared that up there are many good 15" woofers that will work just fine for you, the Alpine TypeR 15" is a great woofer as well as the Kicker CVR15`. Of course proper box is critical to achieve maximum performance.

actually 40cm is 15.748"

google v

Google

anyways. I'd check out the JBL GTI MKII 15" subwoofer.

will handle 2kw of power no problem with its "bottomless" coil.

used to run one myself and is by far one of my favourites for a blend of sq and spl

And if you measured any of them you would notice that none of them have exactly a 15" cone, overall diameter, or mounting hole diameter, which then makes the number somewhat arbitrary.

If the Focal is too much $$ then I would look at the JBL shown. Pretty much any other 15 is going to fall into the SPL crowd, the flea market dumpwter, or the mass market group (Alpine, MTX, Kicker, Orion, RF) and there's not a tonne of difference within those groups.
