best sounding 5 1/4 Coaxials

Hey guys ive got a 2004 Jeep Wrangler as a 2nd vehicle and i just threw in a Pioneer deck and it has 5 1/4 in pods on the roll cage and im making adapter plates to get 5 1/4's in the dash at the front....

changeing speaker sizes is not an option as this is a tight squeeze at the front as it is...also i dont wanna rig up compnants as its just a Jeep....nor am i going to be running a 4 channel as there is no place to put it where it won't get submerged in water.....i use it for some pretty extreme offroad:cheeky4:....

so what would everyones choice be as the best 5 1/4 coaxial speakers in terms of volume but more inportantly good bass response as i wont have any subs....

any help much appretiated....right now im looking at alpine type s because i have the exact speakers in my car and they sound alright just wodnering if anyhting else has a bit better bass....

In my opinion a better speaker is going to be the Morel Tempo 5 coax. Morel Loudspeakers

Out of 5.25" drivers?.....short answer is no....any audible difference will vanish as soon as you start the Jeep.......:dunno:

Best thing you can do is hit the loudness button and live with it....sorry......:ohwell:

for a Jeep I would consider marine speakers as they should have the best chance of survival in the elements

went through the same thing in my sister-in-laws TJ. My suggestion is pick something in name-brand line (alpine, pioneer, RF, etc) at a price point you like because you're not going to get a whole lot of good sound; especially with the top down. sorry.

yeah..jeeps are bloody loud inside. I'd get the loudest/decent sounding ones and give them lots of power. Infinity kappas get loud, and the extra brightness from the tweeters would be welcomed in such a noisy vehicle.

well thanks for the replies guys:)....i didn't wanna spend too much so i ended up gtting the basic pionners for the rear and alpine type s for the front would have went full pionner but Future shop only had 1 pair of each:sly: and i wanted to get it done that day becuase i had the time....sounds much much better than the stock speakers!, i also got my stock center subwoofer going agian so the bass issue is no longer an issue!:)

sounds soooo Much better!
