Blowing main fuse

I could use some help with my subwoofers in my truck. I installed 2 12” kicker comp subs and a 1200watt kicker amp in my truck a while ago they worked fine up until today. I had a guy I work with tune it a little bit so I can actually have full rang of use of my volume with as little distortion as possible and it’s sounds great. Driving home today I noticed the subs kicking on and off because of the safety in the amp and then just completely cut out. The main fuse blew out on me. I had this issue before where I was constantly replacing the main fuse until I eventually just would keep the bass down enough to keep the amp from working too hard but never figured out what the actual problem was. I been meaning to install capacitor to see if that helps any because it needs one anyways. When the subs hit hard the light dim because of too much current draw I’m guessing. Anyone have any ideas? Any help would be appreciated seeing as I do not have too much knowledge on what gauge wire should be used for what and stuff like that. Just want good sound with no cutouts.

Check you have a good ground...check the gain on your amp is not cranked...and the impedance of your subs match your amp
