built in deck crossover vs stand alone
Which is better to use?
a imprint deck like Alpines CDA 9887 http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messa...381/394305.jpg Or one of these? http://i.seimg.net/images/2861/main/eqx-white.jpg |
9887. you can sit in the drivers seat and hear the difference when changing settings

the EQX is an EQUALIZER with a single set crossover point! if they are the same as they were back in the day, the crossover points could only be changed using a prebuilt resistor IC or if you were handy you could build your own crossover packs using high grade resistors.
if you are looking for an external crossover your best is choosingone of these models here if you are budget oriented you might want to go with a deck with built in crossovers like the one above or one of the Kenwood excelon models... they have nicely adjustable crossovers too |
The imprint unit has automatic time alignment that sounds incredible if done correctly. I'm not sure if that second unit even offers time alignment, but that's not something I'd overlook.

Big Papa - the EQX is oldschool. You want to compare the deck to:
http://carjamz.com/zen/images/DQXS.jpg or http://caraudiomag.com/sites/default...on_bit_one.jpg or http://www.mobileelectronics.com.au/...s-8-dsp-xl.jpg All of which will do everything and more than what most decks will do. |
