Comps without amping
I have a 2011 f150, its ok for factory speakers, but still cant blast it. I have a set of RF comps sitting here, and wanting to try them to see if it sounds better or can be cranked more. I know they should be amped, but i really dont want to run power wires and all that stuff in this truck. What do you guys think, sound the same or worth a shot? where would i get plates for 6.5 to fit in 5x7?

What is the model of the RF components?

T1652-s Power series

Wont have much of a difference those needed to be amped, the punch line is relatively loud on hu power.

Aftermarket speakers on their own are rarely louder than the factory ones - at least not appreciably louder to change for that sole reason.
Amp 'em! |
Change only 1 side; then you can do an A/B comparison and either only have to revert 1 side back to stock, or finish the job as planned.
