I've been looking into a nice crossover for my new setup... anyone on here used behringer for crossover duties?
I was looking into this unit Behringer DCX2496 for under 650 before taxes... anyone think it'd be worth a shot? [ January 30, 2005, 03:33 PM: Message edited by: Sassmaster ] |

If you like bang for your buck I dont think you can go wrong....
wish I had one... dont forget you need to convert for 12v... |
I have one in my impala rigth now. Its an awsome peice, very fast to tune with due to the dial wheel.
However. I have had the hardest time with the 12volt conversion, and noise. Powering it is fine, but engine noise thought the wazzooo. I have built a few different power suplies and even used the power supply out of my ranes (that had no noise) and still have issue's . I have even tried using a 12-120v convertor and had no luck. Still modifing.......some day I'll kill the noise. |
^ I dont know what youve tried... but it sounds to me like you need to build a DC-DC isolated supply first... then run your switching supply off of that....

Good to know... I have a behringer GEQ3102 that I've done the PS on, and I'll try out this one as well. what I may end up doing is making a nice isolated DC supply using some big diodes and some capacitors, see if I can get that to be noiseless.

I've been reading some posts online, and some people have had good success with using 2 of the ID power supplies in parallel.

Behringer is good stuff.
Cheap for what you get....a tad noisy but excellent stuff. I like my 4XS though...dead quiet. |
