Deadening or kick panel?

Ok right now I have 6.5 alpine swr components in the front doors and they rattle quite a lot, powered with a clarion amp giving them 60w each. The 6.5s are bolted directly in the metal of the door...
So my question is: would I be better deadening my doors and mounting the speakers with mdf rings or making fiberglass kickpanels for them?
Oh and I really like strong punchy midbass

best thing to do and i'm sure the Sq guru's will back me up, is to sound deaden your doors, by sound deadening, you'll improve your midbass by having less resonation with your door panels & the inner skin of your door panel.............. plus, if you bandpass your midbass frequency's your staging will greatly improve and be more symmetrical. hope this helps you out..

Deadening the doors will add mass to the sheet metal, consider deadening the door cards also to prevent rattling. If you bandpass a two-way speaker system your frequency range will suffer greatly, consider using a kick panel for a dedicated mid and tweeter with the 6.5's band-passed 200Hz-350Hz and below in the doors. To bandpass a speaker does not improve staging or does it make it more symmetrical, or whatever that means. Proper speaker placement and aiming, T/A, quality equipment and knowledge, with a lot of trial and error will create the aforementioned things. It always comes down to how much time and $$$ you're willing to spend to improve these things.
