Are JVC decks any good? Specifically the mp3 onez? Im lookin to sell mine and get a better one but cant afford to spend much. got $25 for future shop plus w/e I sell mine for.

I wouldn't recommend them.
Don't go Panasonic either. They put the money into flash not actual performance. |
If the Kenwood you have now is still working well, I'd suggest another Kenwood. I've had good luck with the decks I've had from them, and the stores around the GTA are having a field day with the MPV-522. Decent unit for the bucks, and if you stay with the same shop you bought the last one from, maybe they'll cut you a deal...

I used to have a Panasonic deck and it sounded great. Mind you this is when I was upgrading from a Sony deck that came with my car.
But I soon got tired of the Panasonic and went with Alpine. The SQ is like night and day.. if I ever get another deck its going to be an Alpine. |
^^ I agree, Alpine makes a very solid deck. The quality is high, and the sound is great. They are a little pricy compared to JVC or Kenwood, but if any extra money turns up, I'd highly recommend Alpine. I used to have a Aline 7894, and loved it.

but of course ...alpine... ;) i recently upgraded to the 9815...awesome peice...form&function as always and of course great sound...a bit up there in price however(does FS sell alpine?...)

What about Clarion decks, how do they rate compared to Alpine, or Pioneer?
|
The only JVC deck I would look at is the 9750, good functions and also some flashy features. Eclipse has the best sound I have heard to date and this was compared with stock speakers and no EQ'ing.

for a low budget deck with good features panasonics offer very good products.... I would buy a mid grade pani over a lowend alpine etc.... to the general listener there will be minimal differences..... where you would hear the most difference between lower end decks is in the preout voltages.... if using outboard amplifiers.
