EQ/Crossover

I'm thinking of changing EQ's/Xover, currently i am running two AudioControl EQT's and using the x-overs in the amplifliers.

I was thinking about purchasing a 6XS x-over and feeding that through the EQT's. Then, i figured that i possibly could go for a DQXS that is an all-in-one and save space as well as go digital at an extra cost (6XS - $200, DQXS - $500).

I would really like to go with the Zapco, but that is out of my range $$$.

I understand that having 2 EQT's and a 6XS is adding alot of links (noise) into the system, but i was wondering if anyone could shed some light as a 6XS will be alot cheaper.

Cheers...

What exactly do you want to accomplish by changing xovers and EQ?

As for adding more things in the signal chain, I wouldn't be to worried about that, you know what they say, the signal has already gone through a lot of equipement during recording, processing all the way to the CD.

I am looking to run a 4 way active system, currently my HU doesn't not have built in x-overs, so, from the HU i have one set of RCA's going to the EQT's thne from there i would like to have it go through a active xover, instead of using RCA Y's as i do now, also, most of the xovers have a bass control knob that i like, since you lose sub control when going through the EQT's.

Thanks.

Just get a single unit that can do everything you need. H701 or 360 or ???? Lost to choose from.

I don't want to change my HU (I have navigation). Any other options?

Many of the all in one units are designed to work with any head unit. The MS8 from JBL would be a good choice if they would ever release it. The 360 should also work with your current source.

Problem i'm seeing with the 3sixty is first of all, i'll have to buy a palm along with it, and when all said and done, i might as well sell the EQT's and go for a new HU with processing...

I guess i'll just go with the 6XS, keep it simple and budget.

Sell your EQTs for $200 and be in only an extra hundred total for the DQXS.

Or find an alpine H700 or get both parts of the H701 <- IMO better units than the AC.

You will be out of luck using the DQXS for 4 way active.

"front highpass, front bandpass, rear highpass and subwoofer outputs."
Not sure how oyu would do 4 way with that.

3sixty.2 won't do 4 way either.

ALpine H700 or H701 seems ot be the best bets.
