Of course you have John. It involves removing the bridging between the hi-pass and low-pass X.O. inputs.

 

on home stuff but in a car i havent seen it offered (it should be offered with some 3 way sysems)

would you suggest letting the passive x-over that comes with the focal speakers take care of the frequency traffic or would an active set up be a better choice....or can i add just an eq?

 

From my experience so far with the 165W3 kit, it responds incredibly well to FULL active amplification. Put an amp directly powering each driver and it just sings.

Given a choice between a high quality EQ with passive X.O.s or a high quality active X.O. with no EQ, I'd go with the high quality active X.O.

EQ is over rated, install is under rated.
