Getting back into car audio
 

Hey everyone. After putting my hobbies on the back burner for a few years to start a family, I'm itching to get into another build. I want to focus on SQ and do a little competing. Heres the issue, its gonna be in a 2010 Grand Caravan. Ya, i know its not ideal, but I'm up for the challenge.

I have a few ideas, but being away from the hobby for a while I'm not as familiar with the latest products. I'm going with a 10W7 in a sealed enclosure (custom stealth enclosure), and either a JL clean sweep or an audio Control processor to retain the factory HU. As far as amps and components I'm lost. seems as though all the reputable brands from back in the day have lost quality.

Any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Wow. nice work. I'm looking to do something a little more stealth for the front stage and sub. Thats the best spot for the amps and processors. Nice to see someone else is running SQ in a Caravan.

For your factory deck integration, in addition to the Audio Control, also consider the Audison BitOne, JBL MS8, Rockford 360.3 and Alpine PXA-H800. They all do similar things but the feature differences between them may make one more desireable to you.

there is lots of good processors to convert factory hu to rca out....try oem replacements in stock locations for stealth look

Duke is right on. Try one of the processors he recommended. The will give you the control you're going to need.

I prefer dash mounted mids. Feet and legs often get in the way of kick or door mounted mids. You could easily mount a 3" mid in your pillar and remain stealth. hybrid Audio makes a 3" mid with a frequency response that would allow you to run without a tweeter.

Have you already bought the sub?

My top 2 (in order);

1).Audison

2).JBL MS8.

I would like advice with each.

The JBL has power but....The Audison will match the amps that I have my eye on.

I'm thinkin a LRX 5.1 and a small Audison amp for selectable rear fill.

Opinions please.

Between the two, I would go with the Audison. the MS-8 has some issues with stereo recordings and image placement that I would find I intolerable.

So far the BitOne gets my money, but I am waiting for more info on the Rockford 360.3.

Stuck on my choice now. With hours of research here are the top 2 that I cannot decide between.
