Hertz DSK 165.3 tweeters
 

Hello everyone,

I upgraded the speakers in my 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer to Hertz Dieci DSK165 components front and DSC 165 coaial rear. The deck is Sony MEX BX100BT with built-in 40x4 rms amp.

I've got front HPF at 60hz with slope 1 i think, rear LPF at 100hz and slope 3, which is using the coaxials as rear woofers only through Sony's Rear Bass Enhance. It sounds really good, very nice mid-bass, loud and clear! but the tweeters are still a little over powering. Sound stage is definately towards the front, with rear bass fill.

I've tried custom EQ and presets, and can't seem to get it toned down. The tweeter is in the factory location in the door/A pillar corner aimed straight.

If I could get them toned down, it would sound perfect for me for now.

Any suggestions?

did these speakers come with tweeter adjustable crossovers?

most component crossovers have a -4 or neutral or +4 or something like that adjustibility in them.

If not you can reverse the + and - on the tweeters and that will take some of the brightness out of them

Passive crossover with no adjustment on it, unfortunately. I'm going to try reversing polarity, see if that will take the slight harshness out of it.
