^ picture books are part of the game, if you are going to hide it you need to prove it is done correctly

Junkinthetrunk 07-13-2010 02:24 PM

install in my mind is never subjective. either you can see it or the competitor has to prove it within reason. Within reason means yeah, when you take that picture, it has to tie into something tangible and identifiable on YOUR car/install. If you can't prove it, you get the big fat lady. No exceptions.

Exposed terminals and loose KP's were easy finds....... best one was a good friend Gord S when he victoriously pulled a KP right out of the car! And also the white glove "mung" test. Brilliant stuff!!!!

[QUOTE=JohnVroom;590278]so I just dont know if this has any level of validity... and what does basic mean? with his setup he can adjust nearly every perameter on each driver in a way that was not possible 10 years ago. granted he doesnt have motorized speakers coming out of his dash but neither does anyone else, I think your point has not been made. My point is it is every bit as complex as it needs to be, and I think in the name of SQ it is more or less where it needs to be, without sacrificing too much functionality

but your comments are condesending which is excusable if you actually know what you are talking about, and you have been carefull to keep your points heavy on opinion and short on facts which means ... you have not un-toolified yourself. I hope at some point you might actually say something with substance because I am trying to figure out how you came to this conclusion (is this in comparison to Alma Gates Bronco, or a PJ build, or RCs buick, or Mark Eldridge??)[/QUOTE

carpet kickpods= basic, massive kickpods that could have perhaps been built smaller by maybe cutting the metal behind to accomodate a pods that isnt so enormous, and simple staggered amp rack, the deck mount, however functional, is unattractive. even by the guys own admission there are things that could have been done better, he competes in the basic class, and the install is good for that class. if i could see more pictures i could perhaps change my opinion. if there is more pictures available of this car i would like to see them

Dave, what more photos do you need?? Send me $500 and I'll mail you my log book. That should be enough to satisfy your ego and make your claims more platable. If a 3x judge from finals thinks I deserve an average score of 8 on my craftsmanship in the amature class then Ill take his opinion over yours.

Here is the build:

you car is good, i said that, great job winning finals, i said that as well. i dont need to see your logbook, lots of judges will say whatever they think will make a competitor happy

avidedtr 07-13-2010 05:14 PM

Make me happy? That's strange I don't remember him making me feel happy? More like, , I missed that and thanks for pointing out my large gap that I already knew about. He didn't compliment on my wiring techniques. Would you like to see that too?

So now it's good? What is with you? First it's awful next it's good?

Massive kickpods hmm? Do you know anything about the Hybrid Audio L8? Since this is Dave Oakley aka Defro13...you probably think they are garbage and Scott Buwalda should stop building speakers because you say so. The L8 requires massive amount of air space and I had to make sure the back wave wasn't constricted like my 2 previous attempts. Carpet HMM? It's a perect match. Say again, Perfect match to the factor - since it the original belly from when I bought the car in 2006.

The amp rack is perfectly suited for my application and the only thing that is unattractive is the gaps between it and the battery cover.

Say what you want about the HU but I like it.

I wonder what the owner of andre's car audio would think of you spending your work time on car audio forums - Instead of being a keyboard manager.

fudgetablet 07-13-2010 05:33 PM

^^^^huh?, I think you’re a little confused as to who i am, anyway, I have never used any Hybrid Audio anything and never passed judgment on any of their stuff or how your car sounds because I haven’t heard it, maybe it sounds good, maybe it doesn’t, I have no idea, I think you’re getting a little too upset and are incapable of taking input, both good and bad. I don’t want to cause you a nervous breakdown so I will leave this thread alone. Although i would take a more thorough look at your pictures but the link you provided is no good.

avidedtr 07-13-2010 05:55 PM

Do a search under my name and you'll find it - I'm off to go have my nervous breakdown :P

FWIW, I saw this car in Whitby, and I thought the front part of the install was beautiful. It was very clean and looked like it belonged there. I never saw the back so I can't comment on that...
The most important thing to me though is the sound and this car sounds awsome! it was mostly due to hearing this car that I decided on HAT and ARC for my Camaro.
