I was thinking about picking up a pair of Image Dynamics (rack mounted, model IDQ31) 30band mono equalizers.

Does anyone have any feedback on these pieces?

I'd buy them used....there REALLY expensive to buy new. There's also a rack mounted crossover that you can get with the EQ's isn't there?

Hey
Those are good EQ's for sure. If you want to make your own EQ's buy a set of Rane's off ebay (usually around $175 - $225 for set) and there is a great little 12V to +/- 15V converter available through Digikey for about $20. Change the 1/4" inputs with a set of RCA jacks and your set. This will convert the Rane to the ID EQ, much cheaper and the same quality.
Good Luck J

The Rane, Phoenix Gold, Audio Control, and PPI EQs would be all good choices...

I don't know but i think the ID ones are almost the same as the crossfire ones. I have looked at both types but i chose the crossfires because they were a bit more. But i think that you will LOVE your eq's, that i know for sure.

I think the crossfires are much cheaper. Seeing as they aren't a big SQ company I don't know if they would be as good as the Ranes/ID/USD which are all the same style.

The Image Dynamics ones are converted home pieces, as are the Rane.......... as are the Alesis pieces as well. "WE" all now have/sell these 30 band eq's, some converted (noted above), some not (PG, Audio Control, Arc Audio, Zapco, etc). So you have lots of choices. And don't forget about the older PPI DEQ 230............. very very nice used piece. Another old piece that was pretty neat was the Altec Lansing EQ/X-over. Someone was selling one on Ebay not too long ago............. I thnk it was brand new or something.

But still the best thing is to have a Pioneer P9 combo so you can tune from the driver's seat........ all from a DIN sized cut-out

Actually the ID's are not rane's. The crossfire eq's are the same as the id's.. Only difference would be the powersupply, which is actually a very big part of there performance.
