Kenwood: KDC-X995 vs. KDC-BT948HD
 

So I have an audio stock Jeep Grand Cherokee with the Infinity Gold audio system and my head unit has bit the dust. I was looking at either the Kenwood KDC-X995 or the KDC-BT948HD. I was just wondering whether there is a noticeable difference between the two for sound quality. I'm not an audiophile or whatnot however I do care about sound quality over "loudness" or spl. I have a vehicle with the Sound Concert II system in it right now which I think sounds okay-ish. I'll be upgrading speakers later on but I was just wanting an opinion between the two HU's and/or Excelon vs. non-Excelon.

I also didn't know where to place this thread so I thought SQ was the most appropriate.

There is no comparison between the two, the 995 is better in almost every aspect

I can't speak to the KDC-BT948HD, but I just put a 995 in my truck and it is spectacular. Granted it replaced a Clarion DRX9675z (2001 vintage) but I was really happy with the Clarion and only replaced it because it stopped playing CDs. The huge SQ improvement is just a bonus, but most certainly a welcome one.

So I decided on the KDC-X995, just got it today so I haven't put it in yet. I will report back when I get it in.
