My midbass are currently playing 50hz-140hz. They are mounted in my door panels. If you recommend 2 separate boxes, I will build mine that way.

This is more door setup. Infinity Kappa 6.5" components and Kicker SSMB8 midbass drivers. The Kickers are the only 8's I could find shallow enough to fit... And they were only $66US for a brand new pair! That's 5/8" MDF painted black surrounding the 8". They are mounted nice and solid! I painted them for moisture resistance. I made vented fiberglass pods and lined them with Dynamat to help tighten up the mids and protect them from moisture.

Thanks! I considered doing a custom fiberglass pod where for all 3 speakers. I was thinkong of eliminating the garbage/storage pocket and having the 8" there. The 8's actually work quite well where they are. I have both my front and rear speakers crossed over at ~140hz, so the 8's fill in the low end for both stages.

not the optimal location for them, but for sure should provide plenty of mid bass to keep up with the subs

looks like a nice 8" is it real carbon fibre cone?

Probably just colored fiberglass, but I'm not sure.
