my first post!!!!

I was look for answers for some questions that I have about my setup and I found this site. I hope you guys can help me.

I had my ECLIPSE 5440 stoles last month and I don’t think I really appreciated it, because now that I put back in my old Kenwood head unit I am get no wear near the same kind of out put.

Now I am looking for a new head unit and I may get another eclipse because of the 5 volt pre outs. But is that what made it better?

I was also wondering if I got a decent head unit (not eclipse) and used an eq, which I never have before, could I get back the quality sound I had with only 2.5 volt?

The voltage is only in regards to the signal it sends to the amplifier from the pre-outs. Judging from your post, it doesnt seem like you had one?

The preouts are not what made the Eclipse sound the way that it did. In my opinion as a retailer and dealer of Eclipse for over 10 years now, they offer a superior cd player to pretty much everyone else in the same price range. If they have a more powerful preout voltage with a lower impedence, then great, that is a score for you as well. Look at the new CD2000, CD3000, CD4000 as the models to consider. www.eclipse-web.com

ya I Do have amps, sorry i didn't mention that. i have a Blade amp for my Sub and and Kenwood For my highs.

how much would a cross over help?

You should already have a good crossover included in the amplifiers. Some of the new Eclipse cd players also have a active crossover built in.

my amp for the highs shity at best. i got it 3 or 4 years ago at future shop, its a 350watt max 2-ch amp.and my sub amp i know little about, it was sold to me buy a friend of mine last year its old but it worked good (untill a month ago).

so i know i can get better sound quatliy from a cross-over, but can i also get power gains aswell?

i also noticed that you you are a dealer where is your shop located? i also have a few other questions.
