Need T.O. locations for componants!

Hi all,
I’m looking to hear as many sets of different components as i can in the Toronto area, hopefully some side by side.
some that I want to hear are:
MB Quart (have not found any in TO yet)
Focal (have yet to hear what all the hipe is about)
Infinity (not sure about)
Alpine (always thought of them as low end! i know, i know im wrong)
JL (heard, but very pricey)
Morel (someone on here has a set for sale, this brand is new to me)
And any others that might be better price and quality wise than the next.
I’m looking to spend about $400 on components, I will need a set of coax as well for rear passengers this is a separate budget though so no worries.
This is going to go in my Chevy Avalanche with a Kenwood DNX8129 HU (already installed). Not sure if im going to use my current Kenwood Kac-8104 amp or not depending on if its big enough to drive the speakers I get. Amps seem to be an easy thing to come by around here for cheap so im not too worried about that yet!
I will also like some info on good subs without breaking the bank! This is a daily driver so im not looking to break any windows, but loud is always nice to have from time to time (ie: all windows open including mid deck on 401 at 120km/hr). or just plain want it loud.. im more into great sound than big boooom..
please keep in mind that im a noob, so dont go throwing all sorts of Model# at me
thnx

cant really help with the rest but 4 10's that would run approx 1000watts rms would do great for your application would be loud and with tight bass ( less boomy than the bigger speakers )

4- 10's wow, i would have never thought of using 4-subs.
any sugestions on subs?

btw thnx for the fast reply!

Bigger subwoofers aren't 'boomy'. Focus on proper box design not the size of the driver.

no prob.. as of brands im not really in a possition to give advice lol sorry or maybe even 1 10 i heard the one from Clarion a couple weeks ago its the signature series subs and holds 1000watts rms its loud and sounds smooth freaken sweet sub

a smaller sub will react faster than a bigger sub in the perfect box

i was originaly looking a jl w3 or /6 in a 12" x 2 for subs but very pricey. ive been thinking a single kicker L7 but im not sure about how accurate kickers are at higher volumes (not an SQ company). for me accuracy would be better! as for box design, i have a friend who owns a cabinet shop and im a novice carpenter myself so no worries as long as the info is available that is. if box specs are not available i can always ask here where the experts hang out!
do u have any ideas on a good solid set of subs??

danyman Jun 10, 2008 06:33 PM

so far i had alpine subs.( i dont like em ). clarion nice a solid subs got rid of them cause it was to small of power for me . audiopipe blew them lmao. now i have massive audio and they are solid subs and they are pushed often and they sound much better than all the subs i tryed

nghtrdr Jun 10, 2008 06:34 PM

hmmm, i see where u are going with the boomy thing danyman!
i have always liked the look and feel of clarion but they can be pricey..

danyman Jun 10, 2008 06:38 PM
