Hey Guys,

I dunno if this is in the right section, and if it isn't please feel free to move it.

Anyway, I have just purchased 2 12" Kicker Comp CVR Subs, and a 1000 Watt Amp, and I'm going to install them today.

I would like to know: How do I tune in the speakers correctly? (Like the Highs and the Lows). I've read some articles but I don't know if they are reliable.

If you know of any easy way to do it or have a good article to do so, it would be greatly appreciated.

what are the rest of the speakers in the car?
subs only play low frequencies not highs so tuning subs is all in the box that you put them in.

I've just got stock speakers in the rest, except for the back above the trunk. Those are I think 6 x 9 pioneers, nothing special. The box that the subs are in is just a kicker box that the guy i bought them from had them in.

 

if they are already in the box then the subs are tuned to that box.
what kind of headunit are u using? maybe you can control the crossovers on that to help get the desired sound.
otherwise with stock speakers there's little you can do without upgrading.

Well an SQ balance would be an attempt to make it sound either 1)good or sound 2)real. I generally tune by ear so I would fade the sub out completely and then ease it back in, once the sub is barely noticeable on jazz or classical music it is near to the sounds real point 2). If you want to, change the radio or CD to music you listen to and keep easing the bass up, when you stop smiling your past point 1). Radio tends to have a lot more bass (not more sub-bass) than CD's so the tuning point can be different if the subs cross over into the mid-bass a little.

Go to where it makes you happy (that is SQ) not to where it makes others happy (SPL)

 

I think stock speaker sound good enough.

related to this i got a quistion my box is tuned to 32 herts but how do i tune my amp setting properly its a mono amp
