old school 8 pin patch cords

was wondering, people with old school equipment, is the 8 pin din connection better sound quality then rca?
right now I have a din to rca connection near the head unit, and rca running to rear amps.
for SQ, would it be better to have an 8 pin din patch cord to the back amps and have the din to rca connection near the amps?

thanks

randy

it's the same thing + & - connections, just a difference way.

thanks for the reply

I guess maybe I didn't detail the message enough.... I mean, which one (rca or 8 pin din) will be the best to carry the signal over a longer length with the least amount of signal change/loss?
my head unit puts out .5 volts per channel

thanks again

stick with RCA - DIN isn't as common any more.

Just take a meter with a continuity tester and you'll quickly find which pins are actually just tied to the amps RCA input... If you are set on switching to DIN I have seen DIY plugs at SAYAL.

I am holding tight to the one DIN -> R/L RCA cable that I have (to go with my 2150am)

You will not notice any difference between running the DIN cable through the car rather than an RCA cable.
