Phoenix Gold - New Roadster 66 Amp

How many of you guys out there remember the "Route 66" amplifier from Phoenix Gold....??

Well they are releasing a very limited "collector" piece ........called the "Roadster 66"........there will only be 66 units made on the first run.......and will be showing at CES in January.

This will likely be another classic collector piece.........I still know of a few customers that still have the original "Route 66" in the box.

It will be a 6-channel amp with some real nice cosmetics and a substantial amout of power............from the sneak pics I've seen this will be hot.

Look for pics after CES.

The Route 66 was the only M-series amp I never owned. Although I haven't been a fan of PG for the past few years I am curious to see where PG goes in the future (and at the moment it looks like they're following RF's lead with their re-releases).

Very cool. Always enjoyed the PG limited editions amps. I remember seeing a car at a JB's show in 1991 I think it was in Edmonton. Had a Route 66 in an amp rack that was upholstered in Route 66 bed sheeting or curtains. It looked pretty cool actually. Might have been Ken Jingles car now that I think of it.

If that is the case, it sounds like time to invest in a company that might be turning itself around.

THere was a white Taurus SHO locally that ran that setup. IIRC Ken's Sable had an Orion 2240SX on Kicker and then Oz/PPI in it.

I liked the old PG limited amps. The newer ones like the Reactor were bleh.

Agreed........the Reactor was weak !! Ugly too !!

This one looks really quite nice.......saw some spy pics of it, its BIG.
It aint going under a seat......thats for sure !!

Supposedly being shipped in a "special" box too.......maybe like the Frankampenstein' ???? !!!! ????

PG has definatetly turned things around......!! Dont care what their stock price is at..........they were bought out back in Sept. and the new owners were most of the key guys that were around when PG was in its glory.

With the re-issue of limited release amps.........looks like their back on track.

RF and PG are smart........look what happened to Chrysler and GM.......300C...Magnum.....Charger.....Challenger, etc, etc.
The american muscle cars are cool again.....maybe Amercian Amps will be too.

There are only going to be 66 available on the first production run........we expect to have them all sold by end of CES. Already taken orders for some.......you can reserve your choice of serial # if you get in early enough on the deal.

I think the reactors greatest problem was mostly rust heh.

I would like to see PG get back to how they were. I remember many years back, their forum was a great place to be on since a lot of the PG employees like Bryce, Cade were on there to share information and help out their customers.

Now they dont even have a forum. And what happened to their products? they barely have anything and what they have looks, to me, like generic crap specifically component wise.

I heard it's around $1.2K US.

I'm serious thinking about ordering one up. Already sent a PM G-MONEY.
