Picked up a nib DVA-9965R

So i was browsing Kijiji the other day and came across a NIB, Euro spec, Japanese built DVA-9965R with glide touch. This unit retailed for for over $1600 when new and was only 1 down from the Alpine F#1 Status back in the day, it actually share a bunch of its components in common with the F#1 im told. The best part is that I picked this baby up for only $350.00 which is an absolute steal of a deal imo! Check it out:

Yes they are different units indeed but similar setup to both of them ie, offline power supply, dead head, etc and Ive been told by multiple people that there are some shared components between the 2.

What's the diff between the R model to the regular?

Will it pickup radio stations here?

Either way, good score

I believe it denotes it as a Euro model. The biggest functional difference I believe is that the tuner is going to be calibrated to the Euro system.

Yes you are correct sir, to be more specific this unit does do FM but has no AM function as it doesnt exist in Europe. Even though there is no AM reception its an ok trade off as the FM tuner in this unit is highly regarded as being one of the best Alpine has ever made and I can attest to how well it pulls in signals. The other difference with the "R" model is that it has RDS instead of HD radio built in and it has a full speed IPOD connection so you dont have to use the stupid KCA-420i ipod adapter with it.
