Just wondering if any one has experimented with AMP-POWER and SUB-WOOFERS SPL differences.

As far as I know, adding on a decond sub should give you a 3db increase in sound. If you add a second amp of the same power (i.e. one amp per sub instead of running one amp to two subs) it should give you another 3db increase. Someone correct me if I am wrong..... [img]graemlins/deal4u.gif[/img]

If you have 100watts on a single sub and then add a second woofer so you have 50watts per sub you will notice a small gain in output. It usually is not that easy though.

Depending on your system adding a second identical woofer may load your amplifier down more so it makes more overall power for the two woofers. Then it will be louder.

Conversely your amplifier may not be able to run a second identical woofer you have without maybe having to run it stereo instead of mono. This is a step backwards power and output wise.

You will probably get louder higher fequency bass and the same if not less lower frequency bass depending on whether or not the sub because underpowered because it's getting less power. In my opinion one overpowered sub sounds way better than two underpowered subs.
