Really good SQ speakers, yet inexpensive?
Really good SQ speakers, yet inexpensive?
Im looking for some really good SQ speakers that will also get quite loud but wont break the bank. A set of 6x9, a set of 6.5 and a set of 3.5 is what im after. Anyone have any ideas? (im looking at probably about $500 for all. Could be a little bit more, but less is better)
i'm assuming the 6x9's are for your rear deck?
if so, just run without them and spend twice as much on your 6.5".
with that budget, i'd recommend looking at Focal's three way Access Series. 165 A3, thats the model number.

Have a listen to Clarion Signature series components. I have the 6.5s from last year and they are amazing. Super loud and super clear. I have several SQ trophies using these. Mine are getting 230rms per side in fully sealed and deadened doors and the midbass is awesome.

I second that
I presume the 6x9 are rear deck.. dont bother with them at all.
I presume th 3.5s are rear doors? a good mid range line is fine.. you hardly hear them anyway they kinda just fill in the sound.
its the fronts that count! top end of most brands is quite nice..
there is alot to choose from and you can get very good stuff used here in the classifieds.
I too would throw my $ into the front speakers. Morel makes one fine set of speakers for this application. Morel is known throughout the industry for their high end speakers. Morel Loudspeakers for more info on them. If you need or want to do front and rear speakers, it can still be done with the budget you have. Ignore the need to do a separate 3.5" speaker up front, no need for it at all.
Always prioritize front speakers first, get the best ones you can based on your taste and budget. Then comes a subwoofer system, again depends on your taste and budget. I love rear fill, so that's usually done at some point, but definitely the third priority in the mix. Do it in stages, it's more fun and gives you something to look forward to as well as allows you to figure out what works for you. I've been into this for 20+ years, so I know what kind of sound I like, which brands, and how to set it up.
Ok I maybe should have given a bit more information. I have a 6 speaker sound system in my car. 3.5" in the front dash, 6.5" in the door and yes, the 6x9 are for the rear deck. The speakers are already the upgraded sound for my car and are Boston Acoustic.
So I'm hearing Morel, Focal and Clarion. The Focal Access 165 A3 seem just perfect. The Clarion Signature series seems really nice as well. But Which Morel are you talking about? Their website is confusing.
Any more help or information would be very very helpful. Thanks already for the suggestions.
